Our shop on Van Horne is about 20 minutes from Kirkland when the 40 is moving, and the van makes that drive so you don’t have to. Mobile detailing is one flat price anywhere in Greater Montreal, so coming out this far adds no travel fee. You pick a time when you book online, which takes about a minute, and we confirm by text.

Two-car garages and room to work
The REM station, Kirkland
Kirkland streets are mostly split-levels, bungalows and two-storey houses with an attached garage and a wide driveway in front, a lot of them on quiet crescents where the only traffic is the neighbours. For us that’s close to ideal. Back the car out of the garage, leave enough room to swing the doors open on both sides, and the van parks alongside.
The van carries its own water and power, so nobody has to dig out a hose or run a cord from the garage. If there’s a booster seat set up exactly the way your kid likes it, feel free to take it out first so you can put it back your way.
Soccer fields, the arena, and the path under the power lines
From spring to fall, Saturday mornings here mean soccer for a lot of families. The Lakeshore Soccer Club plays all over town: on the turf at Parc des Bénévoles, right beside the REM station on Jean-Yves, on the turf at Smiley Park on Elkas, and on the grass at Meades and Ecclestone.
Turf fields leave their own kind of mess. The little black rubber pellets ride home in cleats and socks, then settle into the trunk carpet, the seat tracks and the door pockets, and a quick pass with a gas station vacuum doesn’t get them out of the seams. The grass fields are worse in May, when the mud comes home on shin pads and ends up ground into the mats.
Once the ice is in, the action moves to the arena at the Kirkland Sports Complex on Hymus, right next to Meades Park. Hockey and skating bags go from the rink to the trunk still wet, week after week, and by March the carpet underneath is damp and streaked with salt. That’s interior work, and it’s a lot easier to get out in early spring than in July.
On days off there’s the paved bike path in the Hydro-Québec corridor, north of the 40. It crosses the whole town with stretches of woods on either side, and in winter part of it is groomed for cross-country skiing, from Timberlea-Trail over to Ecclestone Park.
The 40, and the REM that runs beside it
For most people here, getting downtown has meant the 40. Since May there’s another option. The REM opened a station on Jean-Yves, up on a concrete guideway next to the highway, and it’s the highest station on the whole network.
If you still drive in, the front of the car takes the hits. Summer evenings on the 40 leave bugs baked onto the bumper and mirrors and a grey film on the windshield by Friday, and in winter it’s the spray off the trucks. A Mobile Prestige Exterior gets that off in your driveway.
If the train has taken over your commute, the car racks up far fewer highway kilometres and spends more weekdays parked at home. It still gets dusty sitting outside, only more slowly.
The 40 is also the way to our shop. Hand washes, paint correction and ceramic coating need our bay, so they happen at 5300 Van Horne in Côte-des-Neiges, about 20 minutes east outside rush hour. The van can’t do those in a driveway.

Before you book
My kid’s cleats dumped turf pellets all over the trunk. Will an interior detail get them out?
Yes, that’s a Mobile Prestige Interior. The little black pellets from the turf at Bénévoles and Smiley hide in the carpet seams, the seat tracks and the door pockets, so we go after them there and not only on the open floor. If there’s dried mud from the grass fields too, it comes out of the mats in the same visit.
We just drove home from a summer at the cottage, west on the 40, and the car is grey with gravel-road dust inside and out. Where do we start?
Start with a Mobile ABSOLUX, which does the inside and the outside in one visit, right in your driveway. Dust from a gravel road gets past the door seals, so it ends up on the dash, in the carpet and in the door jambs, not only on the paint. If the outside only needs a wash, bring it to our shop on Van Horne, since washes need the bay.
It’s July and the front of the car is covered in bugs from the 40. Is that an exterior detail?
It is. A Mobile Prestige Exterior gets them off the bumper, the grille and the mirrors in your driveway. Try not to leave them for weeks, since they get harder to remove the longer they bake in the sun. If they’ve left marks in the paint once they’re gone, that part is paint correction, and we do that at the shop.
