Driveways in Lachenaie, La Plaine and Urbanova
Vieux-Terrebonne from across the water
Outside the old town, most of Terrebonne is houses with a driveway. Lachenaie and La Plaine filled up with newer builds over the last few decades, and out west Urbanova is still going up between the 640 and the river, one new street at a time. That’s easy work for us. The car stays in the driveway, the van pulls in beside it, and since the van carries its own water and power, we don’t need your hose or an outlet.
If you live on one of those new streets, your car probably wears a film of fine dust from the lots being built next door. It’s gritty stuff, and a dry cloth drags it across the paint. Farther north, La Plaine still backs onto farm fields, and the roads out that way kick up dust all summer that ends up in the door jambs and the vents. A Mobile Prestige Exterior gets it off with water before it does any harm.
Vieux-Terrebonne and the Mille Îles
On a summer evening, a good part of Terrebonne ends up in the old town. The terraces along rue Saint-Louis fill up, and the Rivière des Mille Îles is a short walk away. At the end of it all is Île-des-Moulins, where the old stone mills and the seigneur’s office are still standing. You can ride the pontoon boat on the lock in summer, catch a concert on a Sunday in July or August, skate there in winter, and shop the Marché de Noël in December.
The TransTerrebonne path follows the river east through Lachenaie, and the wooded section out west is gravel. That’s how a lot of trunks end up full of grit by August, with bike tires and hiking boots doing the rest. It’s interior work, and it’s easy to do in the driveway.

The 25, the 640, and the drive to Van Horne
A lot of Terrebonne gets to work on the 25 or the 640, and from December to March both are wet with brine. The trucks around the 25/640 interchange throw it back at everyone behind them. The van can’t do hand washes, paint correction or ceramic coating. Those need our bay at 5300 Van Horne in Côte-des-Neiges, about 35 minutes away outside rush hour. It’s a long enough drive that it pays to plan it. Fall is a good time: paint correction first if a few winters left swirl marks, then a ceramic coating so the salt from the highway has less to hold onto.

Good to know before you book
We’re on one of the new streets in Urbanova and they’re still building all around us. Is it worth getting the car done before they finish?
It is, as long as you expect to do it again. The dust from the building sites settles on everything, and wiping it off dry is how paint picks up fine scratches. A Mobile Prestige Exterior takes it off with water instead of a rag. Once the street is finished, the car stays clean a lot longer.
Our house in Vieux-Terrebonne doesn’t have a driveway. Can the van still work on the car?
Most of the time, yes. The van needs to be close to the car, with enough room to open all the doors. The streets in the old town are narrow, so put your address in when you book and we’ll work out the best spot with you.
The bikes and the kids come back from the TransTerrebonne covered in grey gravel dust. Is that an inside job?
Mostly. The gravel sections leave grit in the carpet, the seat rails and the trunk, and a quick vacuum only pushes half of it deeper. Mobile Prestige Interior is the one for that. If the outside is just as dusty, book the Mobile ABSOLUX and we’ll do both in one visit.
