Big lots, tall trees, houses set back from the street

Most of Rosemère is houses on big lots where the old trees were left standing. Along chemin de la Grande-Côte, the old road that follows the river, you still pass stone farmhouses like the Maison Hubert-Maisonneuve. The streets back from the river and around the old golf course off Labelle are newer, with wide driveways and attached garages, and just as much shade.
It’s an easy place for us to work. The van pulls in next to the car and there’s room to open every door. If your driveway has low branches over it, tell us when you book, because the van is a lot taller than your car.
All that shade changes how a car gets dirty. Parked under big trees, it stays damp for hours after a rain and catches whatever comes down. In spring that’s a yellow film of pollen. In October it’s wet leaves stuck flat to the roof and the hood, and a pile of them under the wipers. Leaves left on light paint for a week can leave faint brown prints, so a Mobile Prestige Exterior late in the fall is a good way to start the winter clean. The pile under the wipers is worth pulling out by hand before the first freeze, since it blocks the drains there.
Down by the Mille Îles
At the end of rue Charbonneau, Parc Charbonneau opens right onto the Rivière des Mille Îles. There are gravel paths along the water, a sand pit and picnic tables for the kids, and a spot to put in your own canoe or kayak. In winter the lawn turns into a lit skating rink. Up at the other end of town, the town has protected its piece of the Grand Coteau forest, and the trails through it are easiest to reach from the Lorraine side.
Those weekends come home in the car. Wet life jackets and paddling shoes leave the back smelling like the river by August, and dust from the gravel paths settles into the mats. That’s a Mobile Prestige Interior, done in the driveway while the canoe dries on the rack.
The 640, the 15, and boulevard Labelle
If you work in town, the morning starts on the 640 and the 15 and crosses the Gédéon-Ouimet into Laval. When the highway backs up, a lot of people take boulevard Labelle instead and go over the Marius-Dufresne, one light at a time. Chemin de la Grande-Côte gets slow at rush hour too. In winter every one of those routes is wet with brine, and the car ahead throws it at your hood each time you stop.
Place Rosemère sits right where the 15 and the 640 meet, so plenty of Saturdays end there too, with a Walmart run or a new pair of boots. Crossing that open lot in January puts slush on everyone’s feet, and it dries into white rings on the carpet. If the car looks like that inside and out by February, book the Mobile ABSOLUX.
When the car needs our bay
Paint correction and ceramic coating can’t be done from the van. They happen at 5300 Van Horne in Côte-des-Neiges, near the Décarie. From Rosemère it’s the 640 or Labelle to the 15, straight down through Laval, about 30 minutes when the traffic’s moving.
If you’re going to make that drive once, make it in the fall for a ceramic coating. Brine from the 15 has a harder time holding on to coated paint, and the car rinses clean faster all winter. If the paint already looks dull or swirled from years of automatic car washes, paint correction goes first.

From the river to Place Rosemère
Our driveway winds up through the trees to the house. Does the van need to get all the way up?
It needs to park close to the car, so yes, or near enough. Most long driveways are fine. The two things we’d want to know about are low branches, because the van sits a lot taller than a car, and a stretch so narrow we couldn’t open the doors. If that sounds like yours, leave the car near the bottom for the visit and we’ll work there. A note in your booking is all it takes.
I still play at the Rosemère club now that it’s up in Fontainebleau. By September the trunk is all cut grass and bunker sand. What do I book?
The Mobile Prestige Interior. Clippings and sand work their way under the trunk mat and into the carpet, and wet golf shoes do the same to the footwells. If the outside could use it too, the Mobile ABSOLUX covers both in one visit.
Our old stone house is right on Grande-Côte, and the driveway lets out onto all that rush-hour traffic. What time should we book?
Once the van is in the driveway next to the car, the traffic out front doesn’t slow us down. Getting in and out is easier midday, though, so if you can, pick a time between the morning and evening rush. The booking page shows what’s open.
