Owning a car here depends a lot on which side of Sherbrooke you live on. Above it, the streets climb toward the Boulevard and the Summit, and most of the big old houses have their own driveway. That’s about the easiest job we get. The van pulls up and we work on the car where it already sits.
Below Sherbrooke it’s more apartments and condos, around Greene Avenue, Westmount Square and down toward Victoria Village. If your car lives in a building garage, driving it to us is often simpler. An Express wash takes about 20 minutes, and if you’re in every couple of weeks, a Lux O Club membership covers unlimited Express washes.
What all those trees do to your paint
The old maples on the hillside streets are hard on a car. In early summer they drip a sticky film that dries hard on the hood and roof if it sits. In the fall, wet leaves pile up in the gap under the windshield and leave brown stains on light paint. Then winter brings salt on the steep streets, and it cakes along the lower doors and inside the wheels.
A Mobile Prestige Exterior takes care of most of that at your door. If the car parks under a tree all summer, ceramic coating is worth a look, because sap and road grime rinse off a coated car more easily. That one’s done at the shop.
What we like about Westmount
Westmount Park is the one everyone knows. The old library sits at its corner on Sherbrooke with the glass conservatory right next door, and you can lose an afternoon between the two.
Greene Avenue has red brick sidewalks lined with galleries and small shops, with the black towers of Westmount Square at the bottom. Victoria Village, on Victoria Avenue and along Sherbrooke to the west, is the other shopping strip, with more of the independent stores.
For the view, head up to the Summit lookout on Summit Circle. You look out over downtown to the river, and on a clear day you can pick out Mont Saint-Hilaire. The woods behind it are full of walking paths and dog walkers, and if you want the workout, the public staircases between the hillside streets will get you there on foot.

I’m up near the Summit, and the salt on those steep streets cakes all over the car in winter. What gets it off?
A Mobile Prestige Exterior at your door takes the salt off the lower doors and out of the wheels. If you’d rather keep on top of it all winter, LUX Signature gets you unlimited Signature washes at the shop.
I live in an apartment near Sherbrooke. Should I just come to you?
A lot of the time, yes. The shop at 5300 Van Horne is about 10 minutes away, and an Express wash takes around 20 minutes. We’re open Monday to Wednesday 10 to 5, Thursday 11 to 7, Friday and Saturday 9 to 7, and Sunday 11 to 5. If you’d rather we come to you, the van works anywhere the car has a bit of room around it.
My car sits under a maple all summer. Can you get the sap off?
Fresh sap usually comes off during a regular exterior detail. If it’s been baking on for weeks it can leave marks in the clear coat, and fixing those is paint correction, which we only do at the shop. We’ll take a look and tell you which one you need before we start.
