Brossard has two very different setups for a car. Around Quartier DIX30 and Solar Uniquartier, right by the REM’s Du Quartier station, a lot of people live in condo towers and park underground. Farther out it’s houses: sector L, where every street starts with an L, and the newer streets of sector C along the Grand parc urbain, most of them with a garage and a wide driveway.
Driveways are the easy case. The van pulls in behind the car and we get to work. Towers take a little more planning, because working in the garage depends on your building saying yes and on the van clearing the entrance. If that doesn’t work out, an outdoor spot at the building is just as good for us.
What the 10 and the 30 leave on a car
A big part of Brossard drives into town on the 10 and over the bridge every morning, and the 30 carries everyone else east toward Boucherville or west toward Candiac, with plenty of trucks in the mix. From December to March both highways run wet with brine. An SUV or a hatchback pulls that spray up behind it, so the rear window and the tailgate go grey first, then the lower doors and the wheels.
Summer brings a different kind of grit. Solar Uniquartier is still building out, and new houses keep going up around the Grand parc urbain, so a fine construction dust settles on anything parked nearby. Where the car goes on weekends
Friday night in Brossard often means DIX30, for a movie or a show at the Manulife Theatre and dinner after. On a clear evening, Parc Saint-Laurent on the river has one of the best sunsets in town, and cyclists load up the bike rack for Parc des Vélos on boulevard Marie-Victorin and a ride along the Seaway. Once there’s snow, the kids want the sliding hill at the Grand parc urbain.

Coatings and correction happen on Van Horne
Paint correction and ceramic coating need the bay, so for those you’d bring the car to 5300 Van Horne in Côte-des-Neiges. It’s about 20 minutes back over the bridge outside rush hour.
For a car that does the 10 every day, a ceramic coating is the one worth the trip. Brine and road film don’t grab coated paint as easily, and the car cleans up faster all winter. If the paint already looks hazy or swirled, paint correction comes first.

Towers, lettered streets and river sunsets
I’m in one of the towers at Solar Uniquartier and my car’s parked underground. Can you work down there?
Only if your building agrees and the van can get under the garage entrance, so check with your management first. Some ramps are too low and some condo boards would rather not have an outside detailer downstairs. If either one is a no, bring the car up to an outdoor or visitor spot your building lets you use and we’ll do it there. Mention your building when you book.
Every street in sector L starts with an L, and our friends still end up on the wrong one. Will the van find us?
It will if the address in your booking is right. Type the full street name and house number, and check the spelling before you confirm. When every street around you starts with the same letter, one typo can send the van a block over.
We watch the sunset at Parc Saint-Laurent a lot, and with the sun that low I can see every swirl in the paint. Can the van take those out?
Not in the driveway. Swirls are fine scratches in the clear coat, and taking them out is paint correction, which needs our bay at 5300 Van Horne. A Mobile Prestige Exterior gets the car clean, but the scratches will still be there at sunset. If the swirls bother you, plan a trip over the bridge to the shop.
